Lawyers in Italy Strike demanding Increase Rates
Do not think it's a joke! The lawyers in Italy did strike. They also said the action was to demand rate increases and better working conditions. They were inspired by Mahatma Gandhi, the charismatic leader who freed India.

"The lawyers are through hard times," said Maurizio De Tilla, President of the Organization of Lawyers' Union, when he led protests that followed the 2000 lawyers outside the main court building in Rome.

"Of our 230 000 members, more than 100,000 face difficult conditions. We have a job that is not safe and we paid little," he said. He wore a black robe, orange and white tie.

All around him, hundreds of other lawyers holding pastel balloons with the words "The Constitution".

In a protest that looks like a kindergarten party in late winter, the lawyers rose to counter what it calls its "ruthless" government of Prime Minister Mario Monti to improve competitiveness in their profession.

States attorney stating that the update will only raise legal fees, damage protection - which is already weak, reducing the expertise and market release of uncontrolled costs, according to Reuters. The lawyers opposed the abolition of minimum cost, which said the government will reduce the cost to society.
